Three quick ways to engage on LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a great tool when used in the right way. Now that most of us around the world are working virtually, there has never been a more important time to increase online engagement. Here are three simple ways to increase your LinkedIn engagement in 5 minutes or less.

Post at least weekly to maintain engagement with the individuals you are connected to. Posts don’t have to be extremely long, but should be relevant or interesting to the audience. This could be as simple as an extract from a book you are reading, a great webinar you attended or a podcast you recommend. Tagging other individuals or using hashtags are also great ways to increase engagement and make your posts more visible.

Comment on other posts instead of simply liking them. It takes two minutes to share a considered message reacting to a post rather than the typical “this is great” response most people include. Use the individual’s name for a personal touch, share your own anecdote, or perhaps tag someone else if the post will be relevant to help others with their engagement too.

Use the new story feature to make yourself more visible, especially now that it is still new and not a lot of people are posting through it. It’s a great way to put a face and voice to your profile and is another way to share quick posts that will engage your audience without saturating timelines.
